FCT Police Warn Against Uncoordinated Hiking and Camping Over Security Risks

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has warned the public, particularly youth groups and hiking enthusiasts, against embarking on camping and hiking trips without notifying security agencies. Commissioner of Police Ajao Adewale highlighted the risks associated with remote and unsecured locations, urging organizers to inform the police beforehand to ensure safety.

The police advised coordination with law enforcement for guidance on safe routes and emergency preparedness. Residents were also encouraged to report suspicious activities and seek security coverage by contacting the FCT Command’s emergency lines.
