The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the South-South Development Commission Bill into law, calling it a historic step for regional growth. In a statement by its National Chairman, Ambassador Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, PANDEF commended both the President and the National Assembly for expediting the legislative process.

The forum emphasized that this move strengthens public confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment to regional development and addressing the South-South’s social, environmental, and infrastructural challenges. Additionally, PANDEF called for urgent government intervention in environmental remediation and infrastructure improvement in the Niger Delta. The group also appealed to President Tinubu to resolve the political crisis in Rivers State by reinstating Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and the State Assembly.
