Motorists traveling from Lagos to Ogun State were stranded for hours on Thursday due to two separate accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The first crash occurred around 10:50 a.m. on Kara Bridge, where a container fell and blocked traffic, while the second accident happened at 2:00 p.m. on the Long Bridge.
The gridlock stretched from Alausa Secretariat to Kara Bridge, leaving vehicles at a standstill. Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson Florence Okpe confirmed that no casualties were recorded and that officers were working to clear the road.
Commuters and drivers expressed frustration, blaming reckless driving and poor traffic management for the congestion. Motorists urged authorities to enforce road regulations more effectively to prevent similar incidents in the future.
