An explosion has struck the Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo, Gokana LGA of Rivers State, causing a massive fire outbreak.
The cause of the explosion remains unclear, but authorities are investigating whether it resulted from sabotage, especially amid threats from militant groups over the Federal Government’s withholding of Rivers State’s allocation due to the ongoing political crisis.
The incident, which occurred on Monday night, affected a key export pipeline transporting crude to the Bonny Terminal. Officials are yet to confirm the extent of the damage or potential casualties.
