The Catholic Diocese of Awka in Anambra State has launched an investigation into an altercation between Rev. Fr. Jude Muokwe, Manager of Angel Primary School, and a 50-year-old widow, Mrs. Ikeorah Maureen.
The incident occurred during a staff meeting on salary increments, which Muokwe allegedly interrupted with a cane, accusing Ikeorah of organizing the meeting. Conflicting reports suggest that Ikeorah slapped the priest first, leading to a physical confrontation.
A viral video of the widow recounting her ordeal has sparked public outrage.
In response, the Diocese expressed regret and assured that disciplinary measures would follow after a thorough investigation.
