A woman and her two children are currently in police custody following allegations that she struck her landlord on the head with a pestle in Umugbabe Ovoko, a community in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Enugu State.
The incident was revealed by Enugu-based media personality Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who shared the story on Facebook on Friday, January 31, 2025. According to Ugwuanyi, the attack occurred after the landlord asked the woman to vacate the premises.
He wrote, “The tenant shattered the landlord’s head with a pestle after he told her to move out of his house in Umugbabe Ovoko, Igbo-Eze South LGA, Enugu State.”
Ugwuanyi added that the woman and her two children are currently “enjoying the weather” at Ibagwa Aka Police Station.
He described the landlord as an orphan who had allowed the woman to live in the house because he was the only occupant of the large building. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
