The Nigeria Police Force has rescued 207 abducted children nationwide and dismantled a major child trafficking syndicate in Akure, Ondo State, rescuing 14 children aged between one week and seven years.

Three suspects Abosede Olanipekun, Lukman Isiaka, and Sabira Izuorah were arrested in connection with the case.
Additionally, on January 18, 2025, police operatives in Kogi State intercepted armed bandits planning an attack, neutralizing one suspect and arresting four others, while recovering weapons and motorcycles.
In Katsina State, police thwarted an attack on Ruwan Doruwa Village, killing seven bandits and recovering 109 rustled livestock. These operations reflect ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and banditry across the country.
