The Edo State House of Assembly has replaced Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Minority Leader.

Osawaru was removed alongside Charity Aiguobarueghian, Majority Leader. However. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko, who are also members of the PDP still retained their positions as the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker respectively.
According to reports, the changes were as a result of the letter sent to the assembly by the state acting All Progressives Congress (APC)’s chairman, Jarret Tenebe following the PDP losing majority status in the assembly as a result of the defection of four of its lawmakers to the APC.
The Speaker announced new appointments to key positions. He stated that the PDP leadership in the state is expected to submit a list of nominees for principal officer positions in the House.
