A total of 231 Nigerians, including 219 youths trafficked and forced into cybercrime activities in Ghana, are expected to arrive in Lagos on Friday following a successful rescue operation.
The operation, praised as a model of international cooperation, was led by Ghana’s Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) in partnership with Nigeria’s NAPTIP. Victims, many of whom suffered abuse and inhumane conditions, are being urged to embrace government rehabilitation and skill acquisition programs upon return.
