President Bola Tinubu has called on local government chairmen to promote inclusive and equitable governance that gives people from different backgrounds fair opportunities to participate in developmental principles of federal character are reflected in governance at the grassroots.

The President stressed the importance of ensuring that government programmes and resources are distributed fairly across communities, regardless of their ethnic, religious or regional differences.
He said effective implementation of the federal character principle at the grassroots would strengthen unity, promote fairness and ensure that local communities feel represented and included in governance.
