History made indeed as Nehemiah Danjuma who described himself as deaf has become the first deaf lawyer from Northern Nigeria after being called to the Nigerian Bar, earned a Second Class Upper degree in Common Law from the University of Ilorin.
Celebrating the milestone on his X account, Danjuma wrote, “First Deaf Lawyer from Northern Nigeria. Called to the Bar. History made,” he wrote.
Danjuma, who is from Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, before completing his Bar Part II programme at the Abuja Campus of the Nigerian Law School.
The achievement has been widely celebrated as a significant step forward for disability inclusion and representation in Nigeria’s legal profession.
